Excellent accommodation Having recently travelled to Cambridge to attend a family party, we booked an overnight stay at The Red Lion.

Finding... read more good quality accommodation at a reasonable price in or near to Cambridge can be a real challenge. However, we were pleased to find The Red Lion, which is just minutes away from our relative’s home in Histon.

Situated in a quiet part of the garden at the rear of the pub, our chalet was one of four, each with its own front door, affording us with plenty privacy.

This modern chalet was beautifully decorated and very clean, with a super king size bed. The large en-suit bathroom was well equipped with a large walk-in shower. We enjoyed a very peaceful and comfortable night.

The Red Lion is a nice country pub and we were even more pleased to discover that they serve our favourite Adnams pale ale and gin. Bonus!

The only downside was that the pub does not open for breakfast on Sunday. Although it does on all other days. This was made clear when we booked. The land lady was very helpful in directing us to a local garden centre where we enjoyed a lovely English breakfast.

If you want good quality accommodation with easy access to Cambridge, we would definitely recommend The Red Lion. You won’t be disappointed. We hope to return next time we visit our family. read less
